Wachusett Region Recycling Events – 11/16/13

Each year, I seem to just miss the Home Depot holiday light recycling events. I managed to find out out this year’s in time to let you all know. Home Depot is  accepting strings of old, broken, and used incandescent bulbs, which can be exchanged for $3 to $5 off selected LED lights. The trade-in ends on November 17th. See the information at this link (part way down the page on the right, below the ranges and washer/dryer ads, opens to a PDF).

Donations of non-perishable food items are being collected at Commerce Bank locations through November 22nd. Among their locations: 11 Park Ave, 560 Park Ave, 451 Lincoln st, and 993 Grafton Street in Worcester, 1057 Main St in Holden, and 320 West Boylston st in West Boylston. Click here for the full list of locations and business hours.

America Recycles Day is November 15th this year. This day is designed to bring attention to recycling. Last year, over 3.7 millions pounds of goods were recycled during 2000+ events. Check their website to join an event or hold one of your own.

Donate your no longer needed winter coats to Jordan Furniture’s One Warm Coat program. Any coats that are in wearable condition are accepted. Your coat will be professionally dry cleaned at Anton’s Cleaners and donated to someone in need. Coats can be dropped off at any Anton’s Cleaners or Jordan’s Furniture location. Or donate to the Sheriff’s Winter Coat Drive. New or gently-used adult’s or children’s coats can be dropped of at Wachusett Mountain, the Fitchburg Office of Community Corrections at 19 Fairmont Place, the Gardner Museum, D’Ambrosio Eye Care of Gardner, Lancaster and Athol and Independent Cleaners of Fitchburg. Donations are accepted through the beginning of December.
