Wachusett Region Recycling Events – 6/8/13

The Wachusett Watershed Recycling Center is open on Tuesdays (9-11am). Wednesdays (2:30-4:30pm) and Saturday, June 15 (8am to noon). Paints and chemicals are accepted on Saturday. See their site for the many categories of items they collect, such as batteries, cell phones, TVs, computers, bicycles, Styrofoam, furniture appliances…the list goes on.

West Boylston’s Boy Scout Troop 151 is collecting redeemable bottles and cans this Saturday, June 8th from 10am to 1pm. Bring you cans to Major Edwards Elementary School, Crescent Street, West Boylston. Also, Paxton’s Boy Scout  Troop will be collecting redeemable bottles and cans on the Paxton Common this Saturday. Bottles and cans must be redeemable in Massachusetts. Proceeds will fund troop activities.

Tis the season for the informal electronics recycling events that will pop up at church parking lots around the region. On Saturday, June 15th, from 9am to 2pm, electronics can be brought to St. Mary’s Church on Princeton Street in Holden. Small fees (of up to $15, I believe) will be charged.  Donations do not have to be in working order. This event is open to anyone, there is no residency requirement.

Paxton’s town-wide yard sale will be held on Saturday, June 15th. For $10, you can advertise your sale on the yard sale map. Or pay $15 to have your own table on the town common. Contact Paxton Lion Nick Powlovich at (508) 755-7389 to get your address on the map or for more information.

Do you have a male mannequin that is looking for a new home? The Paxton Historical Commission needs a full-body, freestanding  mannequin to display a World War ll uniform. Contact Anita at (508) 798-5092 to arrange the donation.

Donate shoes you no longer need to Sterling Troop 189 Boy Scout Connor Glasier.  Donations of clean, gently used men’s, women’s or children’s shoes can be made in the collection boxes at these Sterling locations: Butterick Building, 1835 Town Hall, Conant Public Library, Clinton Savings Bank, Chocksett Middle School, Houghton Elementary School and Village Green Preschool/First Church. Money raised from the shoe donations will be used for the construction of benches that will be placed by Memorial Park’s Gazebo.
