Upcycling-Turning Garbage into Something Useful

Upcycling is the process of taking what would be considered useless and making a new useable item out of it. Terracycle does this with the candy wrappers and other items they collect, selling products like the Capri Sun backpack. But they aren’t the only ones.

Imagine aluminum cans turned into roosters, hens or owls. Anna Johansson does this and sells her creations on her site, AnnaBuilt.

You can have the Ski Source General Store make your old skis into a new Adirondack chair or you can buy a blueprint from them to do it yourself.

Felt Sew Good, on Etsy, makes handbags out of wool sweaters.
