Wachusett Region Recycling Events-2/16/13

The Wachusett Watershed Regional Recycling Center is open every Wednesday from 2:30 to 4:30pm. In February, it is also open on Saturday, February 16th from 8am to 11am. Along with collecting recyclable  items such as paint, electronics, batteries, mercury thermometers, truck tires, and propane tanks for recycling, they also collect items for re-use. Items that are in good condition that someone may want to use fall into this category. Suggested items listed on the website are small appliances, linens, craft supplies, and holiday decorations. Extend the life of a usable item that you no longer want by bringing it to the WWRRC for someone else to take home.

WHEAT Community Services is looking for donations of warm winter items such as coats, hats, and gloves for adults, children, and infants. Donations can be dropped off at their thrift store, Hidden Treasures, 272 High St., Clinton from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, or at the WHEAT offices at 500 Main St., Clinton. Donated items will be given to those in need. WHEAT serves those in Bolton, Berlin, Clinton, Lancaster, and Sterling. Contact WHEAT at (978) 365-6349 for more information.

Dress for Success will be collecting women’s business suits during its SOS Send One Suit weekend, from March 7th to 10th. Drop off your gently-used nearly-new suit at a local participating dressbarn store.Dress for Success will give your suit to a disadvantaged woman so she can be well-presented at job interviews.
