Where to Recyle Respiratory Inhalers

Respiratory Inhalers are made of many parts that can be retrieved and recycled into new goods. GlaxoSmithKline’s (GSK) Complete the Cycle program allows patients with existing prescriptions to bring their empty GSK inhaler to the pharmacy for recycling whenever they are picking up a prescription for a new inhaler. The plastics, metal, and remaining gases are recycled into new items. As of Fall 2012, the program is available in 31 markets, including the Boston area. In Central Massachusetts, respiratory inhalers are accepted at many Stop & Shop or Price Chopper stores in Worcester and Shrewsbury. Check this link for an up to date list.
